Towards The Light


We always headed for the light

like the forest trees

we wanted

to leave the darkness behind

and push ourselves up

tall and straight

unwavering.

Now you’re following us

making a new pathway

through.

And when you see 

the red worms of sunlight 

seeking you out

and penetrating you

as they pass through.

you will know.

You will know

you’ve reached

your destination.

These worms won’t devour you though,

they’ll let you through

to where you were meant to be.

A Fictional Account This story is fiction. Made up. Made up like a face. First the base, the foundation, then the shadows and highlights, the blushers and sparklers, the reds and the blues to add interest and shape. Then lines for emphasis.
