Snapshot


A pale orange sunset

faded by mist

blurring day with night,

land with sea.

A snapshot of a Turner painting.

Same faded colours,

same misty blur.

But no masts from tall ships

on the horizon,

no windmills standing ready

to grind corn.

A snapshot with the same palette,

the same faded glory

but the masts are windmills 

turning 

to bring more light.

A Fictional Account This story is fiction. Made up. Made up like a face. First the base, the foundation, then the shadows and highlights, the blushers and sparklers, the reds and the blues to add interest and shape. Then lines for emphasis.
