Cotton Fields

There are fields of cotton as far as the eye can see, row upon row of soft white balls. And, both the plants and people growing it are always hungry and thirsty because it’s a crop so thirsty it could dry up a sea in socialism and a crop that’s so hungry it can starve a people in capitalism, making them as needy as itself, that cotton crop which renders the land sterile. Its demands have exploited, enslaved and destroyed wherever it has been grown. Yes, its softness hides a heart of steel.

But still, it’s natural and that’s what counts - not the hunger of plants and people. It’s only natural.
